The Old Line Chapter announces its 2008 Spring Tour to be held on April 3, 2008:

“Innovative Agricultural Best Management Practices Strategies within the Choptank River Watershed”

Tour Description

The 2008 Spring Tour will showcase ongoing research and
demonstration projects to reduce nutrient loading from agricultural
production systems on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Projects include
the evaluation of cover crops utilizing remote sensing techniques,
effective use of drainage ditch management and heavy use areas at
the entrance of poultry houses. In addition, water quality
monitoring and the movement of nutrients n groundwater will also
be discussed. 

Cost

$15.00 for SWCS Old Line chapter members, which includes bus transportation & lunch.
$20.00 for non-members and those from other SWCS chapters.
